Your Privacy Matters: Medrix is committed to protecting your privacy. All your health data stays on your device and syncs privately through your iCloud account. We do not collect, store, or share your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data You Provide
When you use Medrix, you may choose to enter the following information, which is stored locally on your device:
- Medication Information: Medication names, types (tablet, capsule, syrup, etc.), dosage timing, notes, stock levels, and reminder settings
- Intake Records: Records of when you take or miss medications
- Personal Profile (Optional): Name, gender, weight, and height for personalized tracking
- Reminder Preferences: Times and frequencies for medication reminders
1.2 Data We Do NOT Collect
Medrix does not collect or transmit:
- Analytics or usage data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Location data
- Contact information (email, phone number)
- Payment information
- Any data that could identify you personally
2. How We Use Your Information
All data you enter into Medrix is used exclusively to provide you with the app's functionality:
- Tracking your medication schedule and intake history
- Sending local push notifications to remind you to take medications
- Displaying insights and statistics about your medication adherence
- Managing medication inventory and alerting you to low stock
Your data is never used for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose beyond the core functionality of the app.
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local Storage
All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, which is encrypted using iOS's built-in security features.
3.2 iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your medication data is automatically synced across your Apple devices using CloudKit. This sync is:
- Private: Your data syncs directly between your devices and your personal iCloud account
- Encrypted: Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's CloudKit security
- Controlled by You: Only you can access your data through your Apple ID
- Not Accessible by Us: We have no access to your iCloud data
3.3 Notifications
Medication reminders are generated locally on your device using iOS's UserNotifications framework. These notifications:
- Do not transmit any data to external servers
- Are scheduled and displayed entirely on your device
- Can be disabled at any time through app settings or iOS system settings
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not share your data with any third parties, period.
Medrix does not:
- Sell or rent your personal information
- Share data with advertisers or data brokers
- Use third-party analytics services
- Include third-party SDKs that track user behavior
The only external service involved is Apple's iCloud (if you enable sync), which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Access: View all your data directly within the app
- Edit: Modify any medication or profile information at any time
- Delete: Remove individual medications, intake logs, or your entire profile
- Export: Contact us if you need assistance exporting your data
- Disable Sync: Turn off iCloud sync in Settings to keep data only on your device
6. Data Retention
Your data remains on your device until you choose to delete it. When you:
- Delete a medication: All associated intake logs are automatically deleted
- Uninstall the app: All local data is removed from your device
- Disable iCloud sync: Data remains in your iCloud account until you manually delete it
7. Children's Privacy
Medrix does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for personal medication tracking and should be used under parental guidance for minors. Since we don't collect any data on our servers, children's data remains private on their devices.
8. International Users
Medrix is available worldwide. Since all data processing occurs on your device and (optionally) in your personal iCloud account, your data is subject to the data protection laws of your country and Apple's data handling practices in your region.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Significant changes will be communicated through the app or app store update notes
- Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
